My Story
Paula Dahlke
Paula loves people and she loves using stories or parables to entertain and spark imaginations! She has an education in the arts & color theory. As a certified color consultant, she is uniquely qualified to tell her “Color Stories”.
She is the third of nine children of Adrian and Grace Banks. Growing up, she enjoyed sharing stories of adventure, mystery and tall tales with her younger siblings. This carried over into the next generation with her own children, Aaron, Matthew and Carlene.
Some of their favorites were the “Color Stories” with adventures to experience and lessons to be learned. Matthew, a graphic designer, contributed his vision of these characters for The Perfect Color. Paula’s mother, Grace Banks, a former educator and award-winning painter, contributed to this work as well. While Grace has passed on, her legacy continues in this work.
Paula works together with her husband Charles at their architectural firm, Life by Design. Together with their three dogs (Harley, Chief, and Jade) they reside in Western New York and share time with their five Grandchildren, Lincoln, Oliver, Kennedy, Jack and Teagan. They have also been blessed to have hosted their “imported” (exchange students) children, Daeun & Junha Joung, Seung Min Cho, Felix Grigat, Enrique “Kike” Charro, Pablo Ocana, and Marco “Neto” Blanco, all of which are now a permanent part of their extended family.
She believes that stories should not only tell a tale, but should have a memorable message that leaves the reader with something to identify with.
